About KytyPS5
KytyPS5 is an independent, open-source project dedicated to PS5 emulation - bringing PlayStation 5 games to PC, Mac and Linux for preservation, accessibility and the love of the platform.
Our Mission
We believe that games you own should be playable on the hardware you choose. Consoles are wonderful, but they age, break, and eventually become hard to find. Emulation is how we preserve the PS5 generation so its games remain playable long after the hardware is gone.
KytyPS5 exists to give players a way to experience their own PS5 library on a computer - with the benefits of better resolutions, unrestricted frame rates, save states and modding. Everything we build is and will remain free and open source.
Who We Are
KytyPS5 is built by a small, independent team of emulation enthusiasts and reverse-engineering hobbyists. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Sony Interactive Entertainment in any way. PlayStation, PS5 and all related marks are trademarks of Sony. KytyPS5 is a fan project created out of passion for the platform.
Our development is public and transparent. Anyone can read the source code, report issues, or contribute. We believe openness builds trust - and that trust matters in emulation, where safety and legality are paramount.
Our Editorial Standards
Every guide, compatibility report and article on this site is written to be accurate, up-to-date and genuinely helpful. Our standards:
- Tested information. Compatibility claims and performance tips are based on real testing on recommended hardware, not speculation.
- Clearly dated. Every article shows when it was published and last updated, because emulation moves fast.
- No hype. We say plainly what works, what is in progress, and what does not work yet. No false promises.
- Education first. We explain not just the steps but why they matter, so you can troubleshoot confidently.
Our Commitment to Legality
KytyPS5 is built carefully to respect the law and the rights of game creators. Specifically:
- No copyrighted code. KytyPS5 contains no Sony firmware, BIOS, or proprietary code. It is a clean-room project.
- No game distribution. We never provide, host, or link to copyrighted game files. You must supply your own legally-obtained games.
- Preservation-focused. Emulation is a legally-established means of preserving and accessing software you own.
